How a ride works

You always know the next step. The fare is visible before you request, the driver is named before you get in, and the receipt matches the trip you took.

Choose pickup and destination

Search, or use a saved place such as home or work. You can book for now or schedule a later pickup.

Read the fare estimate

The price is built from a base fare, distance, time, and any waiting, airport, or toll charge that applies in that zone. A promo, if you have one, is applied before you confirm.

Choose the vehicle

Economy is the everyday class. Other classes appear when that city has approved cars for them. You see seats and the kind of trip each class is for.

Choose how you pay

Cash and mobile money are the first methods. A wallet, cards, and company accounts follow. You pick one before the request goes out.

A driver accepts

Blue Ride offers the trip to a nearby driver who is online, approved, and in the right vehicle. You see the name, the car, and the arrival estimate.

Follow the car in

The map stays on screen. You can message or call the driver about the pickup point. If plans change, cancellation rules for that city are shown before you cancel.

Ride

The trip starts when you are in the car. You can share the live trip with someone you trust. SOS and your emergency contacts stay available for the whole ride.

Arrive, pay, rate

The trip ends at the destination. Payment is recorded, you can add a tip, and both of you rate the ride. The receipt stays in your history.

What else a rider can do

  • Save places and favorite a driver you want to request again.
  • Split a fare with other passengers on the same trip.
  • Share a ride when the city turns ride-sharing on.
  • Send a package, or book an airport pickup, on the same request flow.
  • Report a lost item from the receipt, not from memory of the car.

Live booking opens when the first city has verified drivers on the road. Until then, leave your city and phone and we will tell you when you can request.
