A Blue Ride driver is a person we have reviewed. A Blue Ride trip is a record you can share while it is happening, and look up after it ends.
Before a driver can go online
Operations reviews each item. A missing or rejected document keeps the driver offline.
The car
Vehicle registration, insurance, and an inspection. The car on the trip has to match the car we approved.
The record
Police clearance where the city requires it. Documents expire. When they expire, the driver goes offline until they are renewed.
During the trip
- Live GPS for the rider and for operations.
- Share the trip with a person you choose.
- SOS, which alerts your emergency contacts and the operations desk.
- Speed watched against the kind of road, so a dangerous trip can be flagged.
- In-app call and chat, so the pickup conversation stays on the trip.
After the trip
- Both people rate the ride. Repeated low scores are reviewed.
- Report an incident from the receipt, with the route still attached.
- Lost and found starts from the car and the driver on that receipt.
- Night trips are stored the same way as daytime trips. There is no off-record ride.
What this page is promising
These controls are part of the product we are building for the first city. They are not a claim that a trip can be booked today. When the rider app opens, an unapproved driver still cannot go online, and a rider can still share a live trip.
